Zev Beck’s love of cooking began when he was a kid. His parents’ best friends owned a Jewish bakery and he worked for them as a baker’s helper. He soon knew that the love of his life was cooking, and he went straight from high school to the top cooking school in the US — the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
Chef Zev has always loved to travel. He’s worked in San Francisco, New York City, Vancouver, BC, Hawaii, Boca Raton, Florida, Switzerland, and the Caribbean. He was the head chef for a yacht chartering company that ran three large yachts, feeding up to 700 people a day on night cruises. When he lived on Grand Turk Island he was both a hotel chef and SCUBA diving instructor. He owned two restaurants in Vancouver, Canada, Century Grill and Zev’s. He was the head chef for a kosher resort in Switzerland that met that exacting mehadrin kosher standards. And now he’s settled down in Jerusalem and offers his experience to you.
